I first met Ashley and Jim in Mexico. They are close friends of Courtney and Paul, the couple who’s wedding I shot in Cancun a few weeks ago. Ashley asked me if I would shoot their engagement session before all the fall leaves were gone. We chose to shoot on the UNC campus because it is one of my favorite places and Jim graduated with two Masters degrees, including an MBA, from Carolina. I knew that this would be a great shoot because, as I discovered in Mexico, Jim and Ashley are one of those couples who are simply a lot of fun to hang out with! I think my photos will show that this pair knows how to have a good time.

MacGregor Downs Country Club was the setting for Lauren and Chris’s October 29th wedding. The day started out with rain, wind and cold. Fortunately by the time the wedding rolled around, the rain had stopped but the cold stayed. Lauren was a real trooper as she wanted some photos taken around the golf course. She braved the cold, wearing nothing but her beautiful wedding gown.

Once the festivities moved inside, everyone warmed up and the place started jumping!

I first met Courtney and Paul last November when I shot their engagement session. After we finished shooting, they asked me if I was interested in shooting their wedding in Cancun. I thought about it for two or three nano seconds before saying; “absolutely!”

Fast forward a year, and my wife and I were on a plane to Mexico to join Courtney, Paul and their friends and family at the wonderful Dreams Resort in Cancun. I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun shooting a wedding as I did with this lovely couple.

After the wedding, Courtney wanted to shoot a “trash the dress” session. So two days later, we rose just before sunrise, and with somewhat bleary eyes, spent the morning taking photos on the beach and in the water. I really enjoyed shooting this session as it was relaxed and the light was beautiful.

But the best part about this wedding was that Courtney and Paul went out of their way to make my wife and I feel like a part of their circle of friends. We may have met as strangers a year ago but we left Mexico as friends.

Oh, and it’s rather difficult to get the game on TV but thanks to the internet, they didn’t miss a thing.
