What do you say when you are asked to shoot photos in the North Carolina high country in the fall? Why you say “Yes!”.
Michele and David’s engagement session took place last weekend in and around Banner Elk. The couple lives in Raleigh now but David grew up in the mountains and knows the area like the back of his hand. Michele braved the cold morning (it was a balmy 28 degrees when we started shooting) and was a real trooper all through out the day, willing to try just about anything. David, being a mountain man, didn’t seem to mind the cold at all. For me, being able to photograph some really cool old Caddy’s was a real bonus as I love old cars. We spent the day just having fun, fighting the crowds trying to get to Grandfather Mountain (we gave up trying to get in) and really had a great time. I think the photos will prove that.

Girls just want to have fun. That probably should have been the title of this blog. Except that guys like to have fun too. But as usual, I am getting ahead of myself.
Sherry and Kevin tied the knot on Sunday, October 16 at the Matthews House in Cary. It was another picture perfect Carolina day. Sherry and Kevin are a bit older than my usual couples; however I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a more fun loving group! Sherry and her bridesmaids were certainly into the spirit of the day. The beautiful location and gorgeous weather brought out the best in everyone, even a very cute, but shy, flower girl. Emotions ran high during the toasts as Kevin gave a moving tribute to his three sons and his new bride.
I shot well over 700 photos of this event and had a hard time choosing just a few to share. But I think you’ll agree that the ones I chose captured the spirit of the wedding and the joy that Sherry and Kevin spread throughout the day.

I must be living right because every one of my recent outdoor weddings have been on beautiful days! October 15 dawned bright and clear, a perfect North Carolina fall day and a perfect day for Chris and Charity to exchange their vows.
The couple and their guests enjoyed the picture perfect garden wedding before heading to Caspars Delightful Inspirations for the reception and dinner. Owner Anne Caspar and her staff set out a delicious meal while DJ Kevin Majoros kept the party going.
I also had the good fortune to have photographer, Steve Jamroz, shooting with me. Together we produced quite a few shots to say the least. It was really hard for me to decide which photos to post, as there are so many great ones, but I think you will enjoy these.
